This Nikon Teleconverter can be used to double the focal length of your telephoto lens, with minimal loss of lens performance or image quality. Note that using the Teleconverter decreases your aperture by two stops: for example a lens which is f/4 becomes f/8 when the Teleconverter is used.

When using the 2x Teleconverter, autofocus is available with all AF-S telephoto lenses which have a maximum aperture of f/2.8 or better (f/4 or better for the D4, D600 and D800 cameras). With slower lenses the Teleconverter will still fit, and it will still increase your focal length, but you'll have to focus manually.
