This Nikon Teleconverter can be used to double the focal length of your telephoto lens, with minimal loss of lens performance or image quality. Note that using the Teleconverter decreases your aperture by two stops: for example a lens which is f/4 becomes f/8 when the Teleconverter is used.
This new Mk III Teleconverter is the first in the world to have an aspherical element, apparently. To us that sounds suspiciously like the kind of "pro-vitamin alpha-retinol compound" gobbledygook you hear in shampoo adverts, but the early reviews say that Nikon really do seem to have achieved a big advance in image quality here. (It won't make your hair shiny, though.)
Nikon Teleconverters are compatible with the following lenses offered by LensesForHire:
When using the 2x Teleconverter, autofocus is possible with all AF-S telephoto lenses which have a maximum aperture of f/2.8 or better.
COMPATIBILITY NOTE: If you hire a Teleconverter, please ensure it is compatible with the lens you want to use it with. We can't accept any responsibility if it isn't. The complete list of our lenses which are compatible is above. If you're not sure whether your lens is compatible, please ask.
