This Nikon Teleconverter can be used to increase the focal length of your telephoto lens by 70%, with minimal loss of lens performance or image quality. Note that using the Teleconverter decreases your aperture by 1½ stops: for example a lens which is f/4 becomes about f/6.7 when the Teleconverter is used.

When using the 1.7x Teleconverter, autofocus is possible with all these lenses. In general, autofocus is available with all AF-S telephoto lenses which have a maximum aperture of f/4 or better.
