We read somewhere that fishing is the UK's most popular "participation sport", so now you can join in too. On a camera with a DX sensor, this 10.5mm fish-eye lens produces an image with a 180-degree diagonal field of view.
The lens is very small, and is built to Nikon's usual high standards. It's very sharp, and has a very short minimum focussing distance. You can focus on something that's virtually touching the front element. Fisheye macro, anyone?
Great fun if you can get the hang of using it properly.
COMPATIBILITY NOTE (1): This is a DX lens. It will not deliver a full-frame image on a D3 series or D700 series camera. (We haven't tried fitting it to a camera with an FX sensor so we don't know quie what it will do. If anyone can enlighten us, please feel free.)
COMPATIBILITY NOTE (2): This is not an AF-S lens. It will not autofocus on the D40/D40x/D60 and D3000/D5000 cameras. (But the depth of field is huge, so if you focus manually anywhere between about 1m and infinity, you'll be fine.)
