This kit contains everything you need for a sophisticated off-camera flash set-up, all in one box.

It comprises:

• Two Canon Speedlite 580EX II flash units
• Two Sto-Fen Omni-Bounce EY flash diffusers
• One Canon Speedlite Transmitter ST-E2

The 580EX II is Canon's top-of-the-range professional-grade flash unit. It's powerful, it's rugged, it's weather-sealed, it's got a vast number of controls, and it can do everything apart from make a decent cup of tea. Actually it can probably do that too, but we haven't found the right custom function yet.

The 580EX II can act as a master or a slave in a multiple-flash setup, so you can have one flash on the camera triggering a second off-camera flash. But if you want two off-camera flashes, that's where the ST-E2 Transmitter comes in.  It sits on the camera to trigger off-camera flashes.  It can also be used as a focus-assist device to allow you to shoot in complete darkness, if that's your thing.

IMPORTANT NOTE - BATTERIES

Each 580EX II requires 4x AA-type batteries which are NOT SUPPLIED.

The ST-E2 Transmitter uses a 2CR5 lithium battery which IS supplied.
